Please follow the steps below in Tegsoft to configure the dial pattern.

  1. Go to the PBX Management.
  2. Go to the Outbound Routes.
  3. Select the Route.
  4. Click the Plus (+) in Patterns / Trunks field.
  5. Set the Outbound Pattern, Prefix, and Cut Prefix.

Outbound Pattern

A pattern specifies routing rules to route a call based on the digits dialed by a user. The PBX matches a dial pattern and routes the call out based on the dial pattern.

In other words, the pattern is to introduce phone numbers to the Tegsoft system with a set of rules. In Tegsoft system, an agent can only make calls to phone numbers that are suitable for the determined patterns in the relevant route.

Pattern types are X, Z, N, number, and dot (.) patterns. The following table lists these patterns, along with their descriptions and examples.

Prefix

Prefix is an optional setting. The prefix will be added to the beginning of a successful match. If the dialed number matches the Pattern, the prefix will be added to the beginning of the number before placing the call.

Example

If a trunk requires 11-digit dialing, but agents are more comfortable with 7-digit dialing, you can add prefix a 4-digit area code to all 7-digit phone numbers before the calls are placed as in the screenshot below.
