Article summary

Two-factor Authentication, or 2FA, is an additional layer of security that goes beyond a username and password to ensure the security of online accounts. 2FA reduces the risk of hackers access to online accounts by preventing phishing attacks. Authentication factors include one-time password sent to a mobile device.

Tegsoft supports two-factor authentication for all accounts when logging into application.

This article covers the configuration steps required to enable two-factor authentication.

Prerequisites

1. In order for two-factor authentication configuration to function properly, an existing SMS provider configuration should be defined in the system. Please make sure you have an active SMS provider configuration.

Check out SMS providers integrated with Tegsoft.

2. The user for whom you will enable two-step verification needs to fulfill the two following prerequisites.

  • The user needs to have a contact card associated with her/him user account in Tegsoft system. If not, create a contact card from the Contacts screen below and assign the user to the contact.

  • A phone number needs to be entered for the user to receive the two-factor verification code as an SMS.
